v8i enhancements

Civil Accudraw (as well as Roundabouts and Civil GPS) are controlled by additional CFG files.  Kevin noted one of these.  There are five in all.

1. Bentley Civil Assemly Location MS - Required.2.0.cfg - defines the location of the civil platform tools.  By default this location is C:\Program Files\Common Files\Bentley Shared\Civil Platform
2. Bentley Civil Platform.cfg - defines some common settings required for Accudraw, Roundabouts and Civil GPS.
3. Bentley Civil Accudraw.cfg - defines settings for Accudraw
4. Bentley Civil Roundabouts.cfg -defines settings for Roundabouts
5. Bentley Civil GPS.cfg - defines settings for Civil GPS.

You must have files 1 and 2 or none of the civil tools will appear.

Then files 3, 4 and 5 are optional depending on whether you want any of the three tools (Accudraw, Roundabouts, GPS)

Hello,

 I am new to this community so there are many questions in my mind.

First one is that I do not have any of the cfg files in my computer. I read some threads in this forum but could not find out where to find those files. Can you help me in being able to use the civil enhancements?

One more question is that can I use the enhancements in metric mode?

If you do not have the cfg files that Kevin referenced, then you need to verify the version of Bentley Civil software you have installed. V8i installs the civil enhancements automatically when you install the core civil product. XM has a separate install and does not contain the Civil GPS of the Civil AccuDraw enhancements.

As far as metric mode, yes you can use metric. Verify your dgn file settings. Working unit and coordinate and angle readout.

I have Microstation XM and have Inroads XM on it. Is civil enhancements an additional download from select or shall I pick it while installing microstation from some options?

I haven't yet install v8i since I am not sure my other customization is 100% compatible between 2 versions.

For XM you can download roundabouts as a seperate install but not the other civil enhancements.  For V8i, roundabouts, civil accudraw and civil GPS are installed automatically with any civil product.

 So shall I install Microstation Civil Extension XM for InRoads Users or is there any other install file? Where can I find it?
