I am trying to figure this issue out too. I want the elevation along a line created by the template. This report still gives me the elevation of the alignment I am using for stationing. Any other ideas?

no you don't have to pick the feature from the 3d model if the plan element has an active profile whatever the method to get the profile was (profile, plan from 3D, ...). The CivilToolsStationOffsetExtended.xsl should report all the information.

Hello Im trying to use the point under horizontal geometry and I use the analysis and report tool it gives me the offset and station but not the elevation. Do I have to have a 3D file or do I have to have a terrain active? I m using geopak. Thanks!

Okay, not quite there but almost there.

Using the Station Base Report tool it gives me the stations along the Main Lane, which I want, it gives me the offset to the DITCH_CEN_RT, which I want ... but it gives me the elevation of the Main Lane at that point, not the elevation of DITCH_CEN_RT (aka, my flowline).

I tried editing the XSL file to pull the information, and I'm looking at how it defines the variables, and I looked at the report at the VERY BOTTOM of the list that is called ShowAll.xsl in order to see what information it was pulling and what I might be able to use and I hit a snag.

It seems that since I'm using the 2D linework to do this, it's not recording any elevation information from the DITCH_CEN_RT linework. I tried to do this in a 3D view, select the Main Lane Alignment in the 2D view and then select the linework for DITCH_CEN_RT in the 3D view and two things happen.
1) Then it does give me information for every rendered cross section, not just the defined interval of 50, which is fine.
2) It still pulls 0.000000000 for the elevation.

At this point I'm at a loss. Does anybody have any ideas?

I'm running GEOPAK .789.

The corridor is indeed derived from an alignment that the profile does not start at the very beginning, but the stations it's giving me are not rendered points. The template drops are every 5 feet and that's what the 3D model shows. I understand what you're trying to say, that it is only giving me points where the model had to calculate extra information, but that does not seem to be the case.

It sounds off topic, but I'm not sure that it is. If you're running Geopak .872, is this corridor derived from an alignment that has a profile that starts someplace other than at the very beginning of the alignment?

In my trial just now of the station offset report (because you got me curious), it seems to report only key points such as points of curvature or points of intersection. What you're probably observing is that the points it is reporting are at cross sections that are rendered in the model.

Okay, I found the solution. That's what always happens. Spend a whole day trying to figure it out. Next morning you come in and ask the community and then you find it yourself 30 minutes later.

The Station Base Report tool under Analysis & Reporting will do exactly what I'm describing. Hope that helps anyone else having the same problem.
