InRoads Survey Field to Finish

I am trying to setup a survey field to finish in Power InRoads. I have set many up in Civil 3D, but I am having trouble figuring out the web of files needed in order to get the correct symbols and line work in. I typically import just a text file/.csv. Point Northing Easting Elevation and Code with the basic commands of B=Begin, E=End, PC= Point of Curvature, PT= Point of Tangent, and CLS=Close figure. I have started altering the .xin file for the codes, but I am having trouble with getting symbols in and getting the linework on the correct level. I have found and altered the "LinkCodes". Also, on import anything with a "B" at the end gets removed. Example "CB" turns to "C". I assume it has to do with the Begin command. I have yet to find anything that explains the process and the files require to make this happen.

  • There is a required configuration variable that must be assigned when a PCODE/Description Key contains a linking code. The Help files contain a list of variables where you will find it.
Since you are working with XIN files, you actually have two options for survey processing. The one your post is about appears to be Open Roads processing.
You might want to experiment with both it and traditional InRoads Survey.
