I hope to find the answer to the following problem:
I already have a terrainmodel. Now I get a dataset of 2D lines with at the ends a figure, saying: "This line is x cm/m below terrain"
How do I get those (many) line's automatic drawn into my design in 3D, and offset to the terrainmodel?
For more information about the Road and Site design tools, visit the Road and Site design WIKI at: http://communities.bentley.com/products/road___site_design/w/road_and_site_design__wiki
I hope to clarify my question. The lines represent elements below my terrain. The figures represent the depth below the terrain. This is a example, in real I get 100 and more lines. The proces to get 3D lines into my design I want to do automaticly.
With regards, L. Tunissen
There isn't a way that I know of to do this all automatically in one fell swoop, unless you add those values into an Excel spreadsheet and create those underground lines from a text file import. Using the legacy InRoads SS2 tools, for the lines that have a uniform depth, the Drape Surface command will take care of those very easily. For the ones with varying cover, I would just use the Place Feature command and trace over them and adjust the 'delta depth' on the fly during creation.
