So are you able to see the 'X' character now in your cross sections?

Make sure to change anything like "a different color selection" in your General Settings apparently there's a bug in the software that doesn't recognize your changes unless you do that.

After watching a few videos most seem to cover how to set symbology and creating a new template in the Element Templates tool. My issues are with existing templates not having the correct settings/features applied to them.

After determining the Feature Definition that was assigned in the Point Properties of my Templates (Feature Definition: Road_EdgeOfPavement). I then went to Project Explorer > Civil Standards > Current DGN file > Feature Definitions > Located my Feature Definition : Road_EdgeOfPavement in the Linear Groups > Right clicked on it > Properties > Scrolled down to the Cross Sections Area to determine what it was reading (Element Template: Linear\Road_EdgeOfPavement).

I then went to Microstation Element Pull-Down Menu > Element Templates > Current DGN File > Linear Groups > Selected Road_EdgeOfPavement > Right clicked on it > Add > Text > Text Styles > Set it to ExtraSmall-CenterCenter > Right clicked on Road_EdgeOfPavement again > Add > Point > Point Character > 'X' was selected > Clicked the Close button to close Element Templates Tool

Finally went to Corridor Modeling Task Bar > Create Cross Sections tool > Loaded my Preferences > clicked the Apply button and my 'X' character was still missing after all that.

Let me know what else needs to be done in order to make this work. Thank you

Yes, you have not added them to the Element Template by right clicking and selecting the type, either Text or Point.

Beebe thanks for the link, is there a specific reason why I would only see the General Settings and not the "Text Settings OR Point Settings" when going into Element Templates > Linear > Road_EdgeOfPavement?

Take a look at the 1st video on this wiki page and verify that you have completed the setup of the element template as shown in the video.
