While working on a Site, I needed to make an interim Terrain element to drape my outer curbs on. Since I need to be able to update this surface and have these other features update to reflect the changed surface elevations, I must keep this surface. I created a "No Display" feature style of surfaces, but the surface level is what is used when looking at sections. How can I get a section view to hide this or any other interim surfaces and only show the desired surface?
While I'm at it, and I know I should only ask one question per thread, but what is the best way to turn off any crossing features in the cross section view? Sometimes I see symbols where the features cross and sometimes I do not. Trying to turn off levels seems to be and exercise in frustration as I try to determine what view & file do I need to use with the level display dialog box to turn them off and keep them off.
I believe the dynamic cross section view mirrors the Default-3d model, so whatever attachments and levels you have on in that view will be rendered in your dynamic cross sections. I can't answer your other question.
I take it back. As far as not showing a surface, you might be able to accomplish your goal by setting that surface as a construction element, and turning off the display of constructions. I'm not sure if that works for you, considering other possible needs to show constructions.
Of course there's always the possibility of turning off levels: namely, the level that the construction surface is on.
HTH.
I could not hide my terrain by setting the class to construction. Have you guys solved your issue yet?
We are trying as well and I'll keep you posted if I figure anything out.
Thanks,
