How to show contours on corridor?

Hi guys,

I am doing some training for some of my overseas colleagues, they are used to work in Civil3D, and I am telling them all how fantastic Powercivil is. Everything is going well until one of the students asks "how can I see the contours of my corridor, because I can do this in Civil3D?"

I cannot find an answer for her/them, and surely that cannot be correct. Does anyone have a clever idea?

Take a look at this video.

The current product you will create a terrain from the mesh the corridor produces. In Connect version of OpenRoads Desinger you will have it done automatically from the corridor object itself.

Hi Beebe Ray,

thank you for your answer, it works but honestly it is not a very elegant workflow, I believe seeing contours of your proposed design is a fundamental aspect of being a proper designer. And based on that I suggest that my question becomes a change request.

However I found another way, which is to define my Final Road Level points in my ITL to a alternate surface, and then I import the alternate surface as a terrain model. This way it is also interactive with any changes in design.

I completely agree the process of checking my corridor to be sure that its targeting things correctly and that I don't have any vertical spikes is very hard to check without an export each time and I like your suggestion of using an alternate surface - but that is also time consuming if I haven't already updated all of my template points.
