Issues with cross sections from corridor DTM vs tin

I'm working on a project that features a station equation and have created a corridor for it.

When I cut cross sections everything runs great up until the station equation.

After the equation my proposed cross sections cut from the DTM my corridor model creates are totally off. They don't follow my profile or tie to existing ground almost like its drawing the section from a station "x" on the x-sec cell for station "y".

I cut sections based on the proposed finished ground tin the corridor creates and that appears to be fine. So its just the DTM which isn't even matching with "itself"

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm running V8I (SS2) 08.11.07.615. And for client reasons I can only work in SS2.

Thanks

  • Could this be related to having the station lock turned on so it locks the stations at whole station intervals when your Roadway Corridor could be at different template drops.  If you place a template drop every 50' and then the station equation is introduced, it may be changing the interval at which the corridor is created or the cross sections stations are created.  A simple example is if you drop templates at a 50' interval in the corridor but cut cross sections at a 25' interval, there is interpolation between the 50 template drops.  A similar theory could apply if the cross sections are not getting generated at the exact stations as a template is dropped.

You can check a few things like comparing the cross sections stations to the corridor stations as you step through the Roadway Designer to make sure they match.  Try toggling the station lock on/off to see if that could be changing the way you need to cut the sections, etc.
