OpenRoads: Updating Cross Sections?

Power InRoads V08.11.09.878_SS4

Once I create a cross sections set in Microstation model in openRoads, is there a way to update cross sections such as display crossing or project features?

James

  • Hi James,

Yes, you can update the cross sections for features and crossing features. Once you have the cross sections created, select the option "Annotate Cross Section" in the "Corridor Modelling" task (just besides 'Create Cross Section' option). Here you will find the "Features" category, you can select the "Crossing features" you want to display.

  • Hi Amita,

Thank you once again for your help.

Well, without text annotations such as feature name, station, and elevation, I meant to turn on & off cross marks that represent crossing or project features. In SS2, I refer to updating cross sections command; refresh, turn on & turn off.

Beside that, using annotation cross section tool that you mentioned, once I displayed text annotations for crossing or project features, how to turn it off? When I checked design surface for instance and select none in Feature > Annotate section and click apply button, text annotations remain same on Microstation view.

I could use undo to go last, but I just want to double check see if there is another command to do so. Thanks~

  • I would like to know that,too.
But as often now we can not hear something from the Bentley guys.

I am still looking for a comparison sheet where we all can see which functions from ouR native, legacy tools are really and fully supported by the open roads technology

  • Sounds good Frank. I'm looking forward to test Bentley the Connect version.

    Keep in touch.

  • I'd actually like to know how to update previously drawn cross sections sets when the design changes. As it is, we have to run a new set, which creates a new model, which screws up all of our reference paths. And if (for some unknown reason) it doesn't create a new model, it seems that they don't come in at the same location, screwing up our references in a different way. I'm absolutely sure that I'm missing or unaware of some critical part of that process, but it HAS to be easier than this.
