I don't know if SS2 is still available on the Bentley website. The one I have was downloaded years ago.

But I am switching to OpenRoads Designer CONNECT.

May I ask as to where did you get the InRoads Ss2 version? (i.e) Is it available on the Bentley website?

Yes, it would be great if these issues didn't occur with updates to Windows. Unfortunately they do exist because the OS can change supporting files which our programs are developed with and we cannot foresee these type changes. We just have to try taking them one at a time and see if we can work around the changes to the Operating System as we find them.

Usually it is the Word Processor dialog: 'Unable to load/create dialog item of type 'HTML'. id=41510001 from dialog "Text Editor – Word Processor"'. We have found a workaround in the MicroStation Wiki, but I'd rather have that we never got the problem.

From the civil side of things, you should be able to upgrade to any MicroStation SS3 or SS4 version and it will still allow InRoads SS2 to be compatible. You will need to make sure you uninstall InRoads and reinstall it once you have downloaded and installed the updated MicroStation version. I believe MicroStation only technically goes up to supporting Windows 8 (not Windows 10) with the SELECTseries4 versions. There are many colleagues and users that are currently using Windows 10 so even though it isn't "supported" it should still operate and function on that OS.

What specific dialog boxes are you missing? Are they the platform dialogs or are they the InRoads specific commands?

I guess the problems (missing dialog boxes and text editor) may relate to the MicroStation version.
So which MStn version would be suitable for Windows 8 and 10, and do they still work with that InRoads SS2 version?

InRoads SS2 is only compatible up to Windows 7. There haven't been any InRoads SS2 versions certified or tested on Windows 8 or Windows 10. With that said we have many users and colleagues that are using these Operating Systems with older products without issue. What type problems are you having?

The only issue I have heard come through is with the tooltips flashing and commands flashing a few times as though it is loading up the commands. This is an annoyance to users but the commands are fully functional.
