How does one set a Format Options for the XML Reports that will load automatically?
On my PC, the Station Format is set to ssss.ss and I have to manually change it to ss+ss.ss every time I use the Report Browser. I'd like to be able to set a default preference so that it, and possibly other Format Options settings.
Many of the precision settings default values are also extreme and would be better if reduced to maybe two decimal places.

Holly, Holly, Holly,
I know how to change the Format Options once I have a Report open.
The issue is, as soon as I select another report command, it reopens the Report Browser and any of those settings I changed in the Format Options dialog box revert back to an apparent fixed, predetermined set of default formats and precisions.
What I am looking for is a way to save a set of these as a predefined Default or even better, as sets of preferences. The ideal function would be that when we set a report as a default for a particular command, that we can also specify a set of Format Options for that report.
I know that in any report, it is possible to code fixed precision and other formats to prevent the Format Options from changing them, and have done that for certain reports. But sometimes the "normal" settings may need to be changed for a particular workflow, so it is usually best that fixed precision settings be limited to a few very specific situations.
It's just not very efficient to have to reset the Format Options every time a report is run. This is one big issue I have in the Phase out of InRoads towards Open Roads. Setting up and saving preferences is one way to increase efficiency in InRoads. Most commands have more than one way of being used and to meet those usages, setting up specific preferences makes it easy for users and companies to get uniform output and save time. So far, it seems as Open Roads progresses, we are loosing the ability to setup groups of settings as preferences allow.

Caddcop, The formatting is saved within this registry location: HKEY_CURRENT_USER > SOFTWARE > Bentley > Civil > ReportBrowser. I tested the following workflow on my machine. I open up the Horizontal Geometry Report, and noticed that my stationing is at ss+ss.ss. This is listed within the registry as StationFormat (1). I change the stationing to ssss.ss within Format Options, close the dialog and close the report window. I refreshed the registry, it now says StationFormat (0). I open up the horizontal report again, and it is set to sss.ss. This is all stored within the registry. I hope this helps you understand how the Format Options are loaded. Holly
