Hello,
I am using Geopak SS4 and I am trying to get earthwork values similar to legacy Geopak products.
I have created proposed corridor models and an existing conditions model using surface templates (existing pavement, topsoil, sidewalk etc.) and I need to get excavation. In the past using Geopak input files, we have used an existing unsuitable classification that allows for excavation limits to be set so you do not show volumes for removing all pavement or topsoil for the entire cross section, but rather only what is being impacted by proposed design. This is neccessary because we need account for the fill required to backfill where existing pavement is, but it is already paid for as pavement removal as a plan item.
Is it possible to calculate earthwork using "excavation limits" in OpenRoads, or do I need to revise my templates to create a "top" and "bottom" for all non-closed components so I can run earthwork using the traditional Geopak method?
Thanks,
Ben
