Exporting Horizontal Alignment from Civil 3d to MX road

i sometimes create my horizontal alignment in Civil 3d and export it to xml which is then imported in MX for further design. Unfortunately on my current project,  anytime i import the alignment, i realised that all the tabs becomes greyed out so i am unable to access my model  or alignment tab. When i close and restart MX, i realise my model is empty and does not contain any alignments.

after some trouble shooting, i realised that if the alignment in civil 3d contains spiral curves, it greys out but if its just simple circular curves, i am able to access my alignments in the model. i believe it should be some settings of some sort in MX. any assistance will be most appreciated as i am on a tight schedule to finish the design.

Thanks

I do not know why that file cannot import - please log a service ticket with the Technical Support Group.

To get the alignments into MX, I did the following:
    1. Use the OpenRoads tool "General Geometry > Import Geometry [W 1]" to get the geometry into a DGN
    2. Set the feature tye for the alignments to one that matches an MX feature type - in my case 'Road Centrelines (Geometry)
    3. Use the OpenRoads tool "General Geometry > Export to native [W 2]" to create the master and geometry strings in MX model.
