[OR] Civil Geometry - Insert/Delete Vertex for Plan or Profile

What are the Rules for where and when one can use Insert or Delete Vertex with Civil Geometry - in Plan and/or Profile?

My experience has shown it is often not allowed but no special prompts are given - just that nothing happens when you try to use it..

  • It looks like insert vertex is not permitted in this specific workflow.

    1. Create a profile by slope or vertical offset from an element
    2. Remove rules
    3. try to insert a vertex: it doesn't work.

The same workflow when replacing "Remove Rules" by "Drop" does work because the resulting element is a "line string" instead of a "profile".
It is also possible to add rules to the previous and it does also work but to my point of view "drop" is better in this workflow.

I don't see any reason why we can't insert a vertex in a profile we got by the first workflow.
Something that doesn't look to be critical or a real issue, but if we can remove this limitation it would be better.

  • We really need tools like the Add/Remove/Move PI/VPI tools of the legacy products. A "warning" that enabling this edit will release and dependencies, resulting in a basic ruled alignment would be acceptable.  Likewise, the Horizontal/Vertical Element tools of InRoads Application Add-In is also pretty much a necessity.

I often find myself taking far longer to accomplish alignment tasks in Ss4 than I would in Ss2.
