I am using the Project by Slope from Element tool in OpenRoads to project 2.00% up from an inscribed circle to the interior island of a roundabout, but when I attempt to select my inscribed circle as the reference it will not select, saying "reference does not have active profile." The inscribed circle element does have an active profile associated with it if I just select it. All of the elements are located in the same .dgn. Has this happened to anyone else before? Thanks.
I have stepped through the process you are describing and I have replicated the issue:
I created two circles using the MicroStation Place Circle command. I haven't done anything with the profiles of these circles, just created a 2D circle. So there is no active profile. I open a Profile Model of the outer circle so I can create a vertical profile using the 'Profile by Constant Elevation' command. This way it creates a vertical profile and sets it as the active profile. Now I am able to use the 'Profile by Slope from Element' command, select the inner circle as the element to profile, then reset and select the outer circle as the reference element and apply a slope. Once I make sure the reference element has an active profile assigned, it allows me to create the projected slope on the other element.
