upgrade dgnlib from SS3 to SS4 (open it in SS4), add variable to your ORD configuration _CIF_ALLOW_EXTENDED_UPGRADES =1, open dgnlib with ORD, click yest when prompted to upgrade. Close dgnlib, open dgnlib.

Hi Kevin,

Is it possible to bring civil cells developed in SS3 into ORD update 2? I just tried to open one and I didn't get any prompt to upgrade.

We were pasting the new civil cell dgnlib to a file to a location that wasn't the default location and wasn't configured correctly.
Works fine when pasted to the default training path for civil cells.

If you are using one of the delivered "Imperial Standards" or "Metric Standards" workspaces, you can place the DGNLIB in the "...\Standards\Dgnlib\Civil Cells" folder. They can also be placed in the "...\Standards\Dgnlib\Civil Cells" folder in the workset being used. Basically any folder called out in the CIVIL_CIVILCELLDGNLIBLIST configuration variable.

If a new civil cell is built in an ORD dgnlib, how do you get it to read with the available default civil cells? with power civil we just copied the new dgnlib into the same path as the default civil cells and it would read automatically. in ORD it is not picking up the newly created civil cells.

I have tried that, but the dgn is only possible to open in read only mode.

I wonder if you could drop the civil cell in SS4. Then open the file in ORD and simply recreate the cell again?

Upgrade of SS3/SS4 Civil Cells currently is not supported in OpenRoads Designer CONNECT Edition 10.00.00.120. Attempting to open these files will result in a warning that the file contains unsupported civil data, and the file will be opened Read-Only.
