Hello, I was trying to add toolbars for horizontal and vertical elements, but for some reason i am missing them. If I go to Geometry tab, I cannot see them as well. Does anybody know what the problem is? I have attached the screenshot as well

Ya know... I was afraid of that.
I guess the positive is that I was doing this alignment this way just to know how to do in Power Survey. I might be doing more of those in non-DOT circumstances. In this instance I was going to import it into the ORD project that I have been working on, and for which you have been extremely helpful So I suppose I ought to have the other office send me the info they used to "draft the alignment from" and step through the ORD example. At least there I have all the tools I need.
I bet you can't do this in OpenSite can you? I guessing not. I'm guessing OpenSite is similar to Power Survey: you don't get everything, and what you don't get, you probably should have gotten Designer
Unfortunately, Designer does not have most of the Horizontal Elements tools. It takes a while to unlearn the InRoads ways so you can learn the Open Roads ways. At times, it is maddening to know you could do it in InRoads in minutes and you can't figure out the workflow to accomplish the same results in Open Roads.

Oh that's even more disappointing, although increasingly not surprising. Since I know nothing and am still new to all this, I found some stuff in the Learn 05-Geometry Learning Path. A couple of things look like they might be similar to what's done in InRoads. And it might be for what I need.
But since I have never done an alignment, and you have, I don't know what I don't know! I was all set to tell the other office I'll just do it in Designer, tell me where you got the info!
Now...
After 10 updates you'd think that ORD could provide the same capabilities as their abandoned software (InRoads) had 20 years ago! Maddening is far too kind!
I just went through this in my saved LEARN stuff:
I think the first five are pretty close to what I was looking trough in the InRoads ROW Fundamentals book.
Then there's this from the same path:
The first two also seem like what one does when "drafting/drawing your alignment" as described for doing an alignment in SS2 (which kind of feels like washing the dishes before putting them in the dishwasher). But they lay the ground work for building the right-of-way.
I'm hoping this means that the stuff from InRoads might sort of still be here, just kinda buried ina different place. Hope springs eternal.
