Power Civil: Contour Labeling

Are there any tools out there for labeling contours? The labels applied by modeler or DTM tools are too random to be useful for plan production.

  • Neil,

I find the best way to label the contours is to  use the settings is the "Load DTM features" dialog box.

Here you can specify the text font, size, colour, level, decimal places and most importantly, the distance between labels.

    (see the attached images)

    Regards,

    Chris.

  • Those are the tools I was referring to in my post. I need more control of the placement. For example with the built in tools I often get a label placed at a sharp change in direction on a contour which makes it stick out at a skewed angle. On roadways we usually place a label at certain intervals in the driving lanes. Also it is a standard practice to have labels aligned in some uniform manner on hill slopes.
