Hi,
I'm trying to replicate the geometry created in native tools using OpenRoads Designer horizontal geometry tools. The task is to place an arc between straight and another arc. The arc I want to place has back and ahead spiral and must have the same direction as the existing arc. The picture below shows what I try to achieve (left hand side). Usually in such situations there are two possible solutions and I would expect software to allow me to select desired scenario. The problem I encounter is ORD allow me to place the arc only on a right hand side - right part of a picture.
Could you please investigate?
Regards, Krzysztof

Obviously there is a little bug here. The Complex Transition Between Any Element And Arc command doesn't give the required solution but all others like the one with the right hand radius whereas we cant a left hand. It should propose it. But the transition-arc-transition gives the result.
unfortunately tranistion-arc-transition will not give correct solution between arcs or between arc and straight line. Spiral should create trasnition form R1 to R2 while this tools makes transition from R1 to 0. In my understanding, this tools creates fine solution between two lines but wrong solution when dealing with arcs.
I would even say that user should be warned not to use spiral-arc-spiral tool between two arcs or an arc and line as it will not create transition from R1 to R2. From engineering point of view spiral between arcs should create seamless transition from entrance radius to exit radius. Will strnogly agree here with Krzysztof.
Thanks.
