Ability to carry over textures and Pal items to ORD from Geopak SS4

For a project delivery I am attempting to utilize OpenRoads Designer to export a model which has a model referenced in that was developed in Power Geopak SS4 with textures and material types defined.  Obviouly, the materials and textures are not carrying over at all.  So a workaround that I've been doing it copying in the old surface meshes and reassigning the materials that are those used in ORD.  The issue I'm having is that not all of those same materials originally available in SS4 are available in ORD.  My question is can those materials in SS4 be ported over in ORD when upgrading the feature definitions and symbolgies (I haven't done this conversion yet, but I am assuming that's an eventuality).  Or do I really need to be working with regular 64 bit application of Microstation ?

  • Thanks Holly,

I ended up finding those videos and implementing that information. One further question though. In SS4 we did use Geopak tins drawn in as triangles in a 3D file and used the raster manager with the DCDRAPE to apply our aerial mapping on the triangles. I'm noticing that in ORD, the DCDRAPE doesn't work at all, even after features have been ported over. However, when I open the same file in Microstation Connect Update 5, the DCDRAPE works perfectly fine. I'm not entirely certain why one should work over the other unless there is some functionality missing in ORD that we need to relearn. Would you be able to weigh in on a solution here ?
