Marcus, fortunately I was recently able to determine the cause. After I looked at a similar post, I applied the same concept to my issue and resolved it.

My terrain reference in the Default 3D model was not being displayed but after I turned that reference file back on and re-ran the sections I was able to get the ground line to appear, so - problem solved.

I very much appreciate your willingness to help and apologize for any inconveniences and wasting your time.
