Is there a way to create an alternate surface that follows the bottom of my milling component? Basically, I want a terrain model that follows ground 2" below the project existing surface within the limit of the existing pavement. It doesn't seem that the alternate surface works for this component type. Also doesn't seem that I can use the bottom mesh in the design stage either.
Surly I'm overlooking something obvious..
Hi,
As of the moment there is not a way to create an alternate surface that follows the bottom of milling components.

Has there been any development on this topic? I am trying to create a surface that follows the bottom of the milling component. Any tips?
Hi Chris,
In order to get this surface, you can use the "Compute Terrain Model from Design Meshes".
The "trick" is to de-activate temporarily other "Design" Feature Meshes from your model before computing the mesh.
The workflow is explained at minute 00:21:28 in the Milling Webinar delivered last month
