I am trying to Import a LandXML surface, and my boundary is coming in at an elevation of zero. This is really messing up my surface (as I'm sure you can imagine). I don't seem to be able to delete those feature points with the Delete Feature Points tool.
The boundary is the right shape, just not at the right elevations.How can I import this XML and tell it to use the boundary as an XY, but not a Z? Alternately, after I've Imported my XML, how can I get stop the surface from triangulating to the boundary? Or any other option I don't know about?

Can you drape it on the terrain? Also, Maximum triangle length works differently for a terrain element than it does in InRoads. It only applies to exterior triangles, so having a very small number, like 0.1 will not leave holes in the middle of a terrain element. So you might be able to remove the boundary and use that approach.

I'm not sure what you mean "drape it on the terrain"? As it imports, the surface is reading the boundary element and dropping to zero at the edges. Draping it back onto itself would just repeat that zero elevation wouldn't it?
I actually "solved" this by tracking down that boundary feature and Excluding From Triangulation. I can't prove how accurate that solution is, but it appears to have done the job.

I have occasionally changed a boundary to a Do not Triangulate breakline and then draped it on the surface (InRoads DTM) and if all the points get good elevations, change it back. But not being sure if you were talking DTM or Terrain Element, I offered options for both.
It's nice you can use an exterior boundary with no elevations, but this cannot be done for a void.
