In InRoads SS2, In a template, I could set a style constraint for a point to be horizontal, vertical, or both. In ORD I am only seeing the option to set a Horizontal Feature Constraint. What happened to the vertical option?
Mike,
ORD doesn't have the style constraints options for vertical or both as you're used to seeing in InRoads SS2, however, you should still have the same control capabilities by modifying the components end condition properties. In the screen shot below "Feature Definition Both" is an option for the target type. Is that what you're looking for?
In attached video there's a pretty good explanation around the 9:40 mark. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ThxIodZZ9lg

I was trying to set it in my backbone. I would like to know if this feature is planned to be added back into the software, or if I have to go back to point controls to handle it.
Any input from Bentley on this would be helpful. We are developing task based workflows for users coming from SS2 to ORD and it would be helpful to know if/why the functionality was removed. Maybe there is a better way to handle it now.
This feature has been discontinued since SS3. I have not heard of any plans, to date, to bring this back as point controls can be used in lieu of its absence.
I have horizontal style constraints and display rules to turn off components and end conditions, unlike SS2 where is was not a common practice to edit the template drop, ORD makes you edit the template drop and remove components as necessary.
So, it looks like to me you have to edit template drop??

Joe, this is not the case (you may have misread the original inquiry)/ Horizontal Style Constraints are now called Horizontal Feature Definition Constraints and behave identically to what you have previously used. It's the vertical aspect that has been removed.
