InRoads SS2
I have a pavement section that I need to split into two separate components for left and right side shoulder reconstruction. The only way I know to accomplish this is to delete everything on one side, then completely reconstruct the now missing side. Is there another way?
Why not just make two copies, call one LEFT and one RIGHT (or whatever) and then delete the right side of the LEFT template and the left side of the RIGHT template and there you have it! Am I missing something?
Okay, I just read your post a bit more. You could still just make two copies and delete individual points on the component for the unwanted half.
I was assuming it was one component in a multiple component template. I usually make a scratch folder in my libraries where I can drag in a template, remove unwanted components and points, to then drag the remains back into another template - usually set to reflect, but sometimes to add some part of one template into another. Too bad we can't right click Copy and right click Paste right in the editor.

Hi, sorry for reviving an old thread but this is the method that I've used most commonly when creating a template. I'd normally take from other pre-existing library templates and edit it or drag and drop something like a shoulder and remove the curb.
However lately I've been noticing that the roadway designer is glitching on me. The new template (lets call it Template B) looks and function perfectly when dropped into a station eg 10+000 for every 20m. At 10+000 it looks perfect however at 10+020 and beyond, the attributes from the original Template A begins to show up and all glitched/invisible. Some constraints have disappeared. Note that several points and components have been deleted from Template A to create Template B and is no longer found under the active tab.
I believe this has something to do with deleting points and constraints from template A but why is the properties from Template A still carried over to Template B?
Are you saying this regarding InRoads SS2?
Yes
