It maybe my eye sight, but when using OpenRoads Designer Connect Edition 1
1. How do I change the text orientation so that the top of the text is on the high side of the contour line?
2. How do I get rid of the 'm' in the metric contour text?
Hi David!! The text orientation is defined by the Text Style (on the Advanced tab > General > Justification ) that is used in the Element Template that is assigned to the Feature Symbology that's assigned to the Feature Definition that you are using on that Terrain. ...and the leg bone is connected to the hip bone which is connected to the ... ; )
And the 'm' ... unfortunately (and I'm really hoping that I'm missing something) ...that's suffix tag is globally defined as part of the Design File Settings under the Working Units > Category - Master Unit Label. ... Grrrrr... not a fan.
Mark:
Your answer for the text orientation has another control that has to do with readability. I haven't found it yet, I tried your solution, but it doesn't work for me.
The 'm' is also somewhere else as it appears in all metric distances in the Element Templates. I changed it to 'AB' in Design File Settings / Working Units / Master Unit Label but it still displays as an 'm'
I am still looking for a solution.

David, first, maybe it IS your eyesight. ; )
...but changing the Master Unit Label most definitely changes mine. Are you working in the Terrain DGN as you are doing this? Or is it a Reference File? If it's in a Reference File then the change to the Label has to be done there.

Mark: You are right again. The terrain is in a reference file and the 'm' problem is solved.
The text orientation is still an ongoing problem.
Thank you
