Retaining Wall Template Set Up

I am trying to build a template for a retaining wall in Open Roads. How do I get the depth of the retaining wall to vary with the terrain? Also, how do I add a fill end condition at the bottom of the retaining (this also needs to vary with the terrain).

  • There are some samples of this type retaining wall component in the delivered template library.  If you open the Civil_Templates_Imperial.itl and look at the Components > Walls templates, you can see these components.

One way to accomplish this is through an end condition seeking intersection with the ground, then place the retaining wall as a chil of that end condition.  the way you constrain the points is what controls the template.  The tops of wall may be tied to the regular backbone of the template and then the points on the bottom of the wall would be constrained to the end condition point that is seeking the terrain and places.  You build the bottom off of that point and it will adjust with the terrain.  Then you can place any end condition off the back of the wall point.  As long as the end condition starts from a constrained point, it can solve once the retaining wall is placed.
