Hey all,
I recently completed a project in OpenRoads Concept Station. Now we want to take the project into OpenRoads Designer in order to add utilities and other more complex elements. I exported out everything from Concept Station and it claimed everything exported out successfully. I then imported some alignments into Designer to test them out.
I got the alignments imported just fine and then I proceeded to import the IRD file that contains the templates and 3D geometry onto the alignments. Some of them appear to work showing the superelevation changes on the bottom part but don't show the 3D road above it. Others refuse to work with the IRD because it says "the horizontal geometry was not found". I don't quite understand why the horizontal alignment wasn't imported along with the vertical. Is there a way to fix this besides re-exporting from Concept Station (because apparently that didn't work the first time).
I have included a screenshot showing the alignment error message and shows the missing 3D geometry on the long alignment.
Hi Sean,
Can you please send me your files so I can get a better understanding of what is not working: https://communities.bentley.com/help/w/be_communities_help/7079/communities-secure-file-upload. I would like to have all of the exported files and the ORD dgn. If I need the dgndb, I'll let you know since it is most likely are very large file. I'll look at your data to see what might be missing. Please let me know when you have it up.
Holly

Thanks for replying Holly, I'm sorry it took me a bit to get back to you. I tried to replicate the error I had gotten the other day and cannot replicate it because my OpenRoads Designer keeps crashing when I try to import the IRD now. I found a workaround for what I need by simply just using the LandXML file instead. Thank you for your help though!
