Just to give a impression of my new appearance in my file
Are your terrain models stored in reference dgn files? I have not seen the display of a terrain disappear and display this sort of block in space, as it almost looks like the design cube for the model (X, Y, and Z extents).
Do you have a DGN you can supply so we can look at the issue?

Sorry, te file got restored on the same name. This was a great stress moment as you can imagine.
The terrains where stored in to the same file. It got a crash and after that this occured. When I got the restored file again and got to the point where something went terribly wrong, I could work allong.
I can provide the file as is, without the squared boxes?
