PowerCivil Subdivision Wizard

Hello-

I am using Powercivil V8 XM and have some questions about the Subdivision Wizard. Does it work dynamically? Is there anyway to tie it to the centerline of the street so that when the street horizontal geometry changes, the lot layouts would change accordingly?

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks,

Kevin

  • I have played around with the subdivision wizard and have a basic understanding of it's capabilities. As Robert points out, you have dynamic editing capabilities when you first run the wizard but after you have commited the edits you lose the ability to edit dynamicly afterwards. Civil 3D's parcels are dynamic at any time and they do intereact with chenges to an alignment if you set it up to work that way. However, the parcels will only interact with the centerline, not the right of way. In other words your parcels boundaries must be defined to the center of the roadway if you want them to by dynamic with the alignment. If the boundary is to the right of way you would have to manually update the right or way boundaries whenver the alignment changed. The upside is that the parcels will update when you edit the right of way boundaries. Overall, Civil 3D's parcels are much easier to edit and manage from what I know.
