Roundabouts can have any number of roadways as long as there is room on the circulatory edge to accommodate the approaches. The larger the circle, the more roads can intersect.

Dave - the attachment didn't come through. But from the details of the additional explanation, my first thought is that there is a problem with your config files. Are you using customized configurations at the project or user level? If so, did you account for the config files used to load the roundabouts functionality.

Your explanations suggest to me that for certain configs, the tools are being loaded basically because they are not included in the CFG files. And perhaps in some of the configurations the roundabout CFG may be incomplete, leading to a crash.

I'm speculating some of course.

If that doesn't help resolve the problem you might want to call the support line for a quicker resolution.

Hi Robert,

Microstation version = 08.11.05.17

Inroads version = 08.11.05.45

I've attached my Microstation file. There is not much to it. It actually is for another project. I was just using it to test the Civil Roundabout tools.

It's very odd, so times the Civil Task shows and sometimes it doesn't. I can get in one file and it doesn't show, go to another file and it does and then back to the original file and it does. I can usually get the Civil Tasks to show if I create new UPF and interface files.

It has locked up in the following situations:

- Clicking on an Italian style roundabout
- Clicking on the Roundabout approach and trying to modify a number in the Element Information box
- Trying to open Inroads to open the Roundabout Tasks.

I usually don't send the errors. I will do this in the future with my e-mail address. That should help a lot.

The roundabout tools are in the task navigation pane. There is a link to help on the library browser.

I installed the XM upgrade version. What is the module under? is there a help or readme file associated with the roundabout features? Thanks!

Is the Roundabout tools available in Inroads XM or should I install the v8i release?

Roundabouts was first introduced as an add-in to Geopak, Inroads or MX first half of 2008. In V8i, Roundabouts is installed as a part of each of the products as a part of Civil Enhancements which also includes Civil Accudraw and CivilGPS. When installed there is a CIVIL group in the task navigation.

This is not to be confused with the Civil Tools (CivTools) that were introduced years ago to provide a variety handy tools.

What version of Civil Tools, are you talking about the Inroads add-in? What version of Inroads was the Roundabout modular introduced? Is this a new tool under the V8i?

Dave - Obvioulsy this should not be happening. If you can send me the DGN file, I'll take a look. If it is small enough, just post it here or you can post to ftp://ftp.bentley.com/pub/incoming and let me know the file name. Also please do the following:

provide a description of the sequence of events to cause the lockup
if you get the box to send an error report, please do so, including you email address in the space provided.
