Hi,
I'm stuck on knowing how to add a layby to an alignment that I want to add a corridor and template drop to. The long term goal is to get cross sections of this area.
Does any one know how to do this or if there is a tutorial on this kind of thing?
I will continue to look myself but right now I am totally stumped on how to do this.
Josh
At first glance it seems like this would simply be a widening of your corridor/roadway, so your template would just look for and follow the edge of pavement though the lay by area. You should be able to base everthing off the alignment you have

Hi Beebe,
Thanks for replying. I've been trying to work out what you've suggested but again I've not managed to get anywhere.
I now have an alignment assigned to edge of pavement and when you say "so your template would just look for and follow the edge of pavement", how do I tell my corridor and template to look at 2 alignments rather than just one?
You would have to set up a point control for the corridor and assign a point control to the edge of pavement template point. That point control would use you newly created edge of pavement alignment and profile.
I would create a horizontal and vertical alignment for the back of the layby and then use a point control for the edge of carriageway to follow the back of layby.
I would then create another horizontal and vertical alignment for the smaller, thin island and then place a linear template on it to model the kerbs. I would then place a surface template to model the island construction.
Yea I've been playing around with point controls and I think I may have set up my template wrong because my kerb and road surface move but my subsurface and end conditions don't.
