Hi
The What's New section states that there is an enhancement for drawing production to draw slope indicators/tad poles?
I am digging for that tool in the Ribbon, Toll Boxes and can not find it. How to access this tools? Is it a feature definitione/symbology setting?
Must say that I was waiting for this tool for a while.
thanks in advance
The video is here - https://communities.bentley.com/products/road___site_design/w/road_and_site_design__wiki/37274/video-side-slope-annotation
But I do not see how to draw slope hatchures as lines between. I agree it is outdated way how to annotate slopes but it is still a vital part of workflows.
Dream on, best what you can get with standard tools in any Bentley software is something like this. Nice isn't it?:
And now in CONNECT you can't even get that:
The problem with defining the slope signatures by feature definition, is that the software doesn't know what feature to target. There are multiple instances of a verge or earthworks feature within the model. And this is the end result:
I think the programmers really need to go back to the drawing board on this one. I'm surprised at the lack of understanding on how important these are. How else are we supposed to show areas of cut/fill on drawings?
How did you achieve this by feature definition? It is in Openroads or Inroads?
I can see your slope lines on left side match these on the right side. So I think these were drawn with Inroads Slope Direction Pattern tools.
In SS2 we could select pair of Styles to draw lines between - these lines were perpendicular to the CL, all slope lines matched each other regardless of the road side, back/fores slope of the ditches, etc.
In ORD this tool seems to ignore CL, slopes are aware of the CL, so there might be a mismatch on slopes indicator on each side, or even on the same side of the road, eg. for ditch/ berm/ bench.
Mark, can such pattern can be achieved: lines on one side of CL mach station of these on the other side. Long lines reaches the outter feature but not crossing it?
Best,
Adam

The screenshots were drawn using OpenRoads Designer annotation groups. I've never used InRoads, but in MX tadpoles would automatically be drawn between the earthworks string and the subsidiary string they were derived from. They would also be perpendicular to the master string used to create the alignment. Slope signatures were always a manual exercise.
In OpenRoads Designer, the only way we have to annotate models is through attaching annotation groups to the feature symbology. If we could attach any annotation to any feature on a one off basis, this would solve so many issues. Not just with slope signatures, but annotating model information in general.
Hi Adam
Been struggling with tadpoles for weeks now. If the corridor has been built from a simple template the slope indicators work well. Other than that the tool is a waste of time. Its like receiving a payslip without your salaries included. We have all the information in a nice model but add no value to us.
I like the idea of adding the features into the itl template.
