Hi,
Does anyone know why my terrain model automatically displays as triangulated?
I have no set feature definition during import and even if I do it doesn't appear to make a difference.
I am importing from a .fil and have been following Module 1 - Overview and Terrain video on the learn server.
Other info, I downloaded update 2 yesterday and prior to that I didn't have this problem. Also I've found that when placing geometry with no feature definition it appears on screen white. Previously when I set a feature definition like Geom_Baseline it would turn red or orange, it doesn't do that any more. It seems like my feature definition system isn't working properly.

If you look at your screenshot, in the Calculated Features section, you have Triangles set to 'On'.
I don't recall turning that on but thanks for your reply Mark.
Following on from that, I now see the boundary but its solid white rather than the dashed green I'm expecting. Why is that?
Hi Mark,
I've recorded the following, hopefully it'll help:

Basically I'd like to know why my OR is behaving differently to the tutorial I'm watching. My example being triangles are turned on automatically when I don't want them to be. I want to see the green dashing line associated with Existing Boundary when I set the feature definition.
I've also noted that when I set different feature definitions nothing seems to change. Previously if I selected Existing Contours I would see the contours, now nothing changes on screen.
I think the Feature Definition may be set up wrongly. It is probably the Element Template used by the 'Existing Boundary' that has the CalculatedFeatureDisplay for Triangles set to ON. So it is doing what it is set to do, just not what you are expecting. Go to the Home tab, Templates>Manage to check this. You will only be able to change the local template - to correct this fully (assuming I am right in my thinking) you will have to amend the dgnlib.
Thanks Mark, I am suspicious of my current install of OR. I've been told that update 2 should be in a folder named OpenRoads Designer CE on my C drive but that doesn't exist.
I want to try a fresh install of OR to see if that will fix the strange things that are going on.
'C:\ProgramData\Bentley\OpenRoads Designer CE\Configuration' is where Update 2 configuration is stored.
Yea something's not right here.
I've requested an uninstall and reinstall.
