I exported the feature definitions from the new OpenRoads CE version 2 file titled "Survey_Features_Annotations_Levels_Elem Temp Imperial.dgnlib to preform some bulk editing but when I tried to convert it to an xlsx format using the features_importexport_excel.exe tool I receive an error message that reads "Error exporting features to Excel: Object reference not set to instance of an object.".
What does this error message mean and how can I move past it?
I've had this one before. If you export an empty xml file, the converter cant read it. My workaround is to create a single feature definition before exporting, then delete it later.
I checked and the xml file isn't empty. It's got quite a bit in it. I did create a new feature definition and tried the process again but when I got to the step of converting the new xml file to xlsx I still received the same error message.
Did you ever resolve this? I happen to just be trying the same thing and received the same error. Thanks.
Did the version of the tool you are using come with OpenRoads CE version 2? There are versions delivered with the product that may be newer than the ones previously made available. I did not believe I had copies here at work, but I did.
When I ran the version that lists v02.00.5 in its dialog title, the program was able to write Survey Features. This may or may not be the version delivered with the product, but the version is probably important as Survey was not in the product before Update 2, so a conversion utility from that release might not have any code or it might have incomplete code, for dealing with Survey data.

Yep, I wasn't using the most recent version. Thank you very much for the help! I for some reason didn't even think to look in the migration utilities folder!
