I am currently in the process of setting up the annotation in our title blocks and have started in the Sheet Seed file, Plan Sheet Definitions.dgnlib. In the process of doing this I have ran across a few questions. Please refer to the screen shot of our title block I have included.
Items 1 and 2 on the screen shot: When setting up our Sheet Indexing (See Items 1 and 2 on the screen shot) in the “Fields Editor” menu under the “Sheet” tab I picked “Sequence Number” for the sheet number. Then for the total sheet number I picked “Sheet Numbering Controls”, “Total Sheets Count” from the “Fields Editor”. This seems to be working as I’d hope. When I create my sheet sets the sheet number and total number are populated proper.
Item 3 on the screen shot: When I attempt to set up annotation for the drawing number in my Plan Sheet Definitions.dgnlib file I’m not having much luck. I associate the Drawing No: field in the title block with the “Sheet Number” option under the “Sheet” tab in the “Fields Editor” menu. Our companies drawing number is a capital L followed by six digits (L000001) and that is how I have it configured. But, when I go to a design file and create a sheet set the Drawing No. appears as A001 on the first sheet, A002 on the second sheet and so on. I opened the “Manage Sheet Index” menu in my dgnlib file and made sure the Sheet Number Prefix was set to “L” and tried again but got the same results. Instead of capital L and six digits I get capital A and three digits that match the sheet number. Is the letter “A” hardcoded to always appear in the sheet number? Is there a LEARNserver video or workflow available for setting up a drawing number in title blocks?
Items 4 and 5 on the screen shot: Is there a way to automatically annotate the start and stop stations for a boundry on each sheet and if so how can this be set up?
Thanks so much for your help. It’s always appreciated.
Hi Chris,
Although there were not attachments, I believe the video at the link below will be helpful.

Good morning Sanders,
The video you suggested is the one I viewed already in order to set up my sheet indexing which seemed to be working. I was looking for something that would help me with populating the drawing number annotation in the title block which this video doesn't cover specifically although I would think it's similar.
I'm not sure why my attachments aren't showing up. I've attach files in the past with no problem and I've attempted to attach these four times now with no luck. I receive a message that they were successfully uploaded but for some reason they never appear in the Forum then. Strange.
If you have any information on populating the Drawing Number and/or beginning and ending station annotation in the title block I'd appreciate it. Thanks for your time and help.
Sanders,
Let me try to explain a little better. When I create a sheet set I want the drawing number in the title block for each sheet to remain the same (but be populated automatically) and only the sheet indexing (SHEET 002 OF 006 TOTAL for example) to change in each title block.
The sheet indexing is working fine. I just can't figure out how to correctly populate the drawing number field in the title block. Currently I have it configured to "Sheet Number" in the "Fields Editor" menu but it's sequencing the drawing number just like it does the sheet number. If I open sheet 001 the drawing number also appears as L000001. Likewise sheet 2 has a drawing number of L000002 but when I create a sheet set in a production drawing. I want this drawing number to remain the same on all sheets. How do I make this happen?
Hello Chris,
Did you find a way to automatically annotate the start and stop stations for a boundry on each sheet?
Best Regards,
YoussefB
