Hi,
I'm struggling with profiles, basically annotation related issues:
1) annotating element in profile drawing: once profile drawing is created with named boundaries, scale is exaggerated 10 times, I can annotate model - I am prompted to choose annotation group and I get grid, table as per annotation group and profile line is annotated as per annotation group associated with Feature Definition (annotation is assigned to feature symbology and symbology to feature definition). Works fine, annotations look great and I am really surprised with the level of flexibility when setting up the frame annotation. The issue here is that I do not really need to annotate ditches in this drawing - I can not remove ditch annotation without removing all other annotations (mainline profile, grid, frame, etc).
So I would like to annotate model with a grid and a frame for the mainline and then decide which profile lines to annotate, eg ditches. How to accomplish that? how to annotate model with grid, table and without annotating profile lines? When I choose Model Annotation I can only choose Annotation Group that sits under Profile\Drawing\ in this annotation group I have set up grid and framed annotation, nothing related to annotating profile line itself. I don't really understand why this line is annotated.
2) If somehow I overcome that first issue and could annotate profile line independently form frame and grid eg. with Annotate Element Tool. I get issue with scale exaggeration. It works fine when exaggeration is set to 1 (no exaggeration). But when it is eg 10 times exaggerated, the annotations are stretched vertically
.
Can we use Element Annotation tool in exaggerated profile drawings? If yes, then how?
Can you attach or send the data you are using. I will take a look and run it by development too. ftp://ftp.Bentley.com/pub/incoming/

I uploded file: annotation_support.dgn
Profile drawing i runn annotation tools twice:
1) once Model Annotation adn got annotations as desired (however not sure why profile line got annotated once prompted I could only choose Drawing annotation group. not linear.
2)secondly I run Element annotation tool and got this stretched annotations.
Annotation groups, feature definitions and symbologies should be copied to the dgn I sent.
Shal I log SR for this issue?

also, can you comment on the workflow I described in my initial post:
1) how to annotate profile - just frame annotation - no annotations on profile lines. Basicaly I would like to annotate profile line on demand. especially the ditches. Sometimes I need them to be annotated sometimes not. Also I would like to be able to override annotation grouip assgned to feature definition while annotating element.
2)can we use annotate element (not model) for exaggerated drawings?
No need to log an SR for now.
For item #1 above you could turn off the Ditch level and they should not be annotated. The profiles that are not visible will not be annotated. If you do not ever want the ditches to be annotated then remove the Ditch/Feature Symbology\Annotation Group.
As for Item #2 above, we do not recommend annotating in the Profile Design Model. We recommend annotating in the Drawing Model created by the named boundaries tool.
That being said we need to get the steps because if you are annotating in the Profile Design Model then we need to investigate that as I thought we do not allow that. If you are in the Drawing Model then possibly we have a defect.
