How to make contours available in MicroStation referenced ORD file

Hi All,

I referenced ORD file which has a terrain a contours in MicroStation file but cannot see the contours in MicroStation. How can I make it work? I exported InRoads dtm file from ORD terrain. When I open it in InRoads, it located in a different place and difference scale. The terrain was generated in the same place and showed correctly in ORD. Do I miss something when exporting dtm from ORD?

Thanks in advance.

Charley

  • Can you explain what products and versions you are using as well as a little more detail to the issue you are having?   Have you referenced a Terrain Model dgn into a new file and the display is different?  You mention MicroStation, are you trying to open the ORD data in regular MicroStation CONNECT?  If you have a Terrain Model, it should use the display settings of the Terrain Feature Definitions to control what is turned on or not.

Or is the main issue just dealing with the export to the InRoads DTM? You mention you were working in a terrain in ORD (OpenRoads Designer) and I believe you are looking to export to a native InRoads DTM, however that DTM cannot be used to commit graphics in ORD but would instead need to be taken back to SS4.  Then you try to display the surface through the InRoads program and it is in a different location?

  • I am using ORD Update 2. I was trying to use ORD to do site grading for a bioretention pond. A proposed terrain (w/tying into existing terrain issue) was generated. The profile was created. For some reason, profile sheet model cannot be created even though it is in view 4. So, I exported the terrain as InRoads dtm. When I opened it by InRoads, it was located far away from the location it was generated in ORD.
