Hi Folks,
I'm curious to know if anyone else is using the old style custom tasks and position mapping.
After adding MS_TASKNAVIGATION_CONFIGURATION with a value 1 I notice that the OpenRoads Modelling and OpenRoads Drawing Production drop down options disappear.
If I set MS_TASKNAVIGATION_CONFIGURATION to 0 and restart OpenRoads the drop down options that were missing return but obviously I lose my custom tool bar.
I'd quite like to have both so is this a design feature to make people use the ribbon system or a fault?

Hi Josh
I haven't worked with these config variables in ORD yet. Let me have a look at them and get back to you.
It may be this is to force you to use the ribbon system.

Hi Simon,
Having given it more thought I find it hard to believe that Bentley would "force" long term users to adapt to a new method of operating their software.
I would say the old style tasks window and position mapping workflow is offered as a feature and does work if you are happy to purchase OpenRoads but use it like it's MicroStation. Minus the Manipulate tool bar bugging out on me, my old dgnlib tool bar worked as I'd expect it to when I introduced the tasks configuration variable.
Given that it works in a MicroStation format I would say this is a feature, it's just not working properly with the OpenRoads interface.
There is an older post about this with an earlier release. One response reports that a bug report has been submitted but a later response indicates that it has not been fixed.
