Is it possible to add folders to a Workspace or Workset in a configuration, other than to the Standards folder?

Our company has long been using a folder structure through multiple disiplines. I would like to continue this structure but CONNECT only seems to allow new folders to be created under the Standards folder. When creating a Workspace or Workset, is it possible to add folders, in a configuration, other than to the Standards folder?

Thanks

  • Create a Template WorkSet with the files and folders you want, then use that template when creating a new WorkSet.

    Example....

    1. I created a Template WorkSet using Create WorkSet option in the Workpage.

    2. In the Template WorkSet folder I created additional folders, and added files to those folders.

    3. When creating a new WorkSet, select your Template WorkSet from the Template drop-down (any WorkSet can be used as a template)

    4. All of the files and folders added to the workset folder are copied to the new WorkSet

You will need to edit your template workset .cfg file to reference any additional files you place in those folders.

You can also use this template to create standard WorkSet properties, and Sheet Index folders with custom sheet numbering. These are stored in the dgnws file which is also copied to the new workset.
