I have a small completed OpenRoads Survey mapped site and Terrain Model. I want to export the graphics to basic MicroStation 3D and/or 2D. With rules and locked civil elements, this is making it difficult. I am not interested in keeping the intelligence, which is built into the OpenRoads Survey model / CADD file. I just want dumbing-down graphics. Can someone help me with that or point me to how-to?
Richard, while you are in your survey DGN, go to the Explorer > Survey and right-click on your Fieldbook and Export To > DGN Graphics. That will push that survey to another DGN files (that you will name) and 'dumb it down'. It will also push the Terrain into that DGN, so you you don't want that, then go to the Explorer > OpenRoads Model and delete the Terrain that's there and you will be left with a DGN file of your survey.
Mark,
Thanks for your help.
That got me most of the way there. Exported to MicroStation. But still have "Locked Civil Elements", when the exported file is viewed with basic MicroStation. (See the image below.) The client just wants basic elements, so that he can manipulate the data within his CADD software.
Richard, I'm not experiencing that. The Export to DGN should be converting the field book to "Graphical Mode" which can be manipulated just like any other MicroStation elements.
Actually, it is working now. I has something to do with the fact that I was playing with the Lock / Unlock settings, before doing the export.
I am considering this issue solved for now. Thanks a bunch for your help!
