I would like to be able to define points with names, then create horizontal geometry from those points while still retaining the point names. Once that geometry is created, I would like to create a report indicating the POB and the point number, then bearing and distance to the next point number, and so on. At each point in the report, I would also want the northing, easting, station, and offset from a selected alignment. Anyone have any ideas on how to incorporate all that?
Thanks,Ken

This can all be done with Native Geopak cogo. You can create an ascii file.
You can create a chain from all the points and Print the chain to get point to point bearing and distance.

Yes, this is what we have done in the past, but we are trying to move away from native tools as much as possible. This is one reason we have been reluctant to look further into ORD too. I'm unsure if a lot of the minor tools we use will be carried forward. Will I be able to get these reports in ORD? Granted, there would be a slightly different workflow perhaps, but same type of result. Same with exporting HEC-RAS reports from cross sections. It only worries me since they weren't brought forward into OpenRoads tools.
At any rate, thanks for the information Nico. We can still continue to go back and forth with native and OpenRoads to get this done.
Yes, ORD Is a work in progress but it will completely replace the native Inroads and Geopak tools, so they must provide all the current capabilities.
Just confirming - those tools are not in place now (as a work in progress)?
