It is frequently easier to build a symetrical template by using the mirror technique. Watch the point name and prefix/suffix settings for Left and Right sides - if you mirror a side already populated with left or right affixes, the mirrored side can end up with a double set.
To avoid this, build one side with apply affixes toggled off and then drag it into a new template with them turned on and with mirror turned on and both sides get proper affixes at one time.

this is correct. if you experiment with the affixes on and off in combination with the mirror option, you will get the desired results for naming all points.
In general I create the Paving buildup portions as individual templates (or grouping of components and then assemble into a paevment section. Then I D&D the section into the divided highway template with affixes and mirror on.
I use naming conventions like the following (left side of divided highway)
LOS (Lt Outside Shldr.), LOEP (Lt Ouside Edge of Pavement), LCP (Lt Centerline Pavement), LIEP (Lt Inside edge of Pavement), LIS (Lt Inside Shldr).
The master template contains the name except the L prefix.
