In OpenRoads Designer, is there a setting to allow labels to be placed relative to the current view? Similar to how dimensions and notes have always worked in Microstation.
I am trying to place a label (station, offset) in a design model with the view rotated parallel to the alignment.
Agree. This would allow us a LOT more flexibility to choose our workflow for plans production, as well as generating plan-type sheets on the fly (or as a one-off).
One of the strengths of Microstation over the years is that there is no need to transform (rotate/scale/move) design references to create sheets. The ability to generate sheets in "real space" by scaling a border and rotating a view has been the standard every place I've worked for the past quarter-decade. The ORD sheet creation method is an unfortunate step WAY backward, introducing extra models and production steps certain to confound and confuse. Labels that would recognize view rotation could go a long way toward returning flexibility back to the designers.

We are experiencing the same issue and are looking for a solution.

When you create the sheet view ORD automatically creates the drawing model which is referenced into the sheet.
So, when you place the labels in the drawing model they are orientated as you want in the sheet view.
The trick is placing your labels in the drawing view and not the model view or the sheet view
That assumes that is the only way to create drawing sheets, and that is the only way the work can get done. Different clients have different requirements, and different firms have different ways of working. Why can there not be flexibility to get the work done? Maybe not everyone wants the extra complication of the drawing model?
Rotating a label to respect a view should not be an outrageous, impossible request.
I don't see how it is more complicated, as the drawing model is created automatically when you use the named boundary tool.
Do you want to place the label in the sheet view ?
