I am building terrain models in PowerCivil but some XML are too large, therefore I am trying to split the XML in OpenRoads and then opening them as separate so PowerCivil can handle them.
Thanks.
How large is the XML file? Please explain what you are doing in OpenRoads to split them. Are you importing the large one and breaking up the terrain into two terrrains? What version of PowerCivil are you running?

The file is 800MB, I am editing the boundary of the imported XML in OpenRoads but I would like to split this model in at least 5 models, is it possible to create square/rectangular boundaries manually? PowerCivil is v8 series 4.
So you are able to import the 800MB xml file into a Terrain in OpenRoads. So you should be able to create a clipped terrain. You could draw a grid system of shapes and use those shapes as the clip boundary.
Yes, thank you for your answer. How can I make the system of shapes and use them as boundaries?
BR Pedro.
Create a shape and then copy it as to make a grid of shapes. Then use the create clip terrain tool that prompts you to pick a clip element..
