Created Complex Terrain Model, delete previous surfaces?

Hi,

I have created a Complex Terrain Model in PowerCivil with different XMLs (some places it overlaps), merging them, should I delete them after the merge in 1? If yes, how I can select them, now I can only select the merged terrain despite Setting Active the previous ones for individual delete.

Thanks,

Pedro.

  • If the merged terrain is ruled, then if you delete them, it will delete out from the merge.

    • One way you can turn off the display of the other terrain models are putting them on a construction level or a feature definition to turn off.
    • Another way is to break the rule and then you can delete the previous terrain models.
    • Another way is to export to an XML, TIN, or DTM as a standalone, delete the terrain models, and re-import.

The idea of having them ruled is that the complex terrain model will live update changes from the other terrain models.  Say if you have multiple designers each working on their own models and creating their own terrain model and you want a live composite of all the terrains in one terrain model as the design progresses.
