I created about 500 cogo points in my inroads project and set elevations for all. I am curious if there is a way to get the surface elevation at each point or do I manually have to draw the profile to figure out the surface elevation at each cogo point location?
all at once :)

I manually entered elevations in for each cogo point and they depict top of pipe so I don't want to remove those elevations. I just want to know what the surface elevation is at each cogo point so I can determine the height necessary for pipe supports.
possibly you can customize XML report. But I would copy alg file and use Edit Multiple tool to reassign elevations. Than you can either report cogo point from two alg files and make excel table or annotate elevations on plan. up to you.
but you can not have two elevations assigned to a single cogo point. You can however prepar a list of cogo in excel and use Description field as a placeholder for surface elevation data.
hope this helps.
Matthew,
Basically, all you have to do is to shove those Cogo Points into a surface and then compare the surfaces relative to the Cogo point locations.
1) Go to InRoads > File > Import and then to the From Geometry tab. Create a Target Surface for the Top of Pipe by just typing that name there. Select the COGO Point that you have and make sure the Elevation at the bottom is set to Horizontal Alignment. It won't use the HA, but will use the COGO Point Elevations. Apply that command and then verify the DTM contents just to sure.
2) Make sure your existing surface is loaded and then go to InRoads > Surface > Utilities > Compare Surfaces. Identify your Cogo Points at the top and then set your Existing and Top of Pipe Surfaces at the bottom ...and Apply.
You'll get a report that lists each elevation and the delta based on the Cogo Point locations.
