I just installed the new OpenRoads Release 3 (10.03.00.43) and tried to then open an old InRoads SS4 design file. Instead of opening, I get the following error message:
The Civil Data [V8i (SELECTSeries 4)] found in this file is not supported by OpenRoads Designer Connect Edition. Would you like to open the file Read-Only?
I thought this new release was going to have the ability to open older InRoads files? Is this not the case?
Hi Riduan, go to File / Settings / Configuration > Configuration Variables and create a New Variable.
Hi Guys, where do I add the CIVIL_UPGRADE_PROMPT_OFF = 1 at?
No probs, that's the whole point of this forum ;)
That's one thing that missed me in the beginning as well - I first got an instance error trying to process a corridor until I realised i had to open the alignment and upgrade it. Then I lost my end conditions when I processed the upgraded corridor till I realised I had to open my terrain dgn and upgrade that as well. A bit of documentation would be nice lol
btw posted using my work account by accident

Sorry, I forgot that the alignment had to be in the active file your working in. I had it referenced in to the SS4 file I had opened in ORD.
Thanks Mark. That's great information and worked for me. I agree with Adam, you save a lot of us some time. I've only opened one SS4 file in ORD and I tried to create a profile view from an alignment that was in the file and it seems to not recognize it as an alignment anymore. It's just recognizing it as a complex element. I'll have to play with the SS4 file more to see how well it's working in ORD.
