I'm creating some 3D signage for our Point Feature Defintions/Symbologies. In creating the Element Templates for the 3D portion of the Feature Symbology I would like the Element Template to be able to point to more than one Active Cell.
For example. I do not want to have to make a separate cell for a Stop Sign and then a second cell for a Stop Sign All-Way. I would like to be able to make a cell for the post, a cell for the stop sign, and then a cell for the all-way sign, and then combine all those in different manners for different element templates.
Is there a way to do this?
Thanks,Chris
So I went through the process. An Element Template with its Active Cell property set to a Cell that is made up of 3 Cells does not pull in the info to display. It was a good idea, but doesn't work.
Christopher, no, I wasn't saying to do anything, I was just attempting to explain to JPLN what you wanted ...the way that I understood it.
Are you saying to make a "Stop Sign" cell that contains the sign cell and the pole cell and then make a "Stop Sign All Way" cell that contains the sign cell, the all way cell, and the pole cell ... and then have the Element Template reference those combo-cells? Does that work?I'll give it a shot and report back I guess.
I think his idea is that if he had 3 cells, he could use a number of different combinations of display at the Element Template level to produce different graphics. He could display cell #1, or cell #2, or cell #3, or cells 1 & 2, or cells 1 & 3, or cells 2 & 3, or cells 1 and 2 and 3, or ... and create numerous different displays with a smaller number of actual cells. Savvy?
What is the reason to not create one cell made of 3 cells ?
