Hi All,
Can anyone tell me how to design pavement layer at Junction with traffic island?
Thanks!
Hi Santosh

Hi Santosh,
I think it depends of what it's expected for your project...
In my country, on traffic island situated on roundabout branches, the pavement layer goes from side to side of the road. Then we cut out the pavement and seal the borders of the traffic island, or we glue them on the pavement.
So I create a continuous structure in MX...
In a central island on a roundabout, I don't do it, especially if the radius is big. It would be a lot a waste of material...
On a boulevard or avenue, it depends of the width of the traffic island. Under 2m, I create a complete continous structure. from 2m, I create a continuous layer of form but stop the "seat" layer behind the borders, to save material.
Hope that makes sense...

Hi Alicia,
Please see the image below. I want to place pavement layers on the area in blue. I want to exclude the trafic island area. What would be the reference string, Limit strings etc to do so?
Well.
In my point of view, if you want your road to last for a long time, you'd better apply pavement structure under the trafic island.
Then, the limit strings of the pavement would be CE??.
